Only show selected Midi Clip in MIDI Editor
Hey all, This may be a simple thing, but I cannot figure out how to only show the selected MIDI clip in the editor. As you can see I have 2 clips in this layer, and they both are showing in the midi editor. Makes it a little tough to edit :)

PRV displays whole tracks. It does not distinguish between clips, and I don't know of any creative workarounds for this, other than moving layered clips to dedicated tracks. In your simple example. I don't really see where it's a problem, but if you had clips with overlapping note ranges, I could see how it might be.

I could only see how it would be a problem if he wanted to edit controllers at the note level. Also, because it looks like a drum track so it would be nice if he had a true drum map set up so that he could solo and mute individual parts. Then again, maybe he does and it's a NEW feature in X1 to not display that info by default.

could only see how it would be a problem if he wanted to edit controllers at the note level. Controllers can't apply only to specific notes in a track unless they're on a different channel, and if you have clips with notes on different channels, you're probably better off having them on different tracks, anyway. Overlapping velocity tails could be a problem, however. For drum tracks, turning everything into Step Sequencer clips and editing parts in SS might be the answer. I didn't think at first glance that this was a drum track because of the long durations in the one clip, but now that you mention it, I see SessionDrummer in the track name.

Ok I see what you all mean, I'm so used to Orion / FL Studio methods where you only see the MIDI data of whatever clip you are working with. Thanks!

I don't have X1, but in 8.5 I do this by muting the clip(s) I don't want to see, and in PRV enabling "Hide Muted Clips" (from the blue pulldown in the upper left).
