Songs Done

I know I've been absent in this forum for a little while now, but I finished off my first set of 5 songs (Apparitions).  You can find them either at soundcloud or my website.  Even though I've "finished" these songs I'd love any feedback.  These are instrumental tracks and have an "ethereal" feel to them.

Thanks for your time and I hope you enjoy the songs!

    Hi Matt,

Listened to the first one 'Walking with Apparitions'. I liked the slightly creepy merry-go-round feel, but I didn't care for the MIDI trap kit. Some ambient percussion would suit this a lot better IMO.

Had a listen to all though not right through.  As James noted the kit sounds wrong in the first tune.  The other sound like they need some space made for the different parts to breath.

    Thanks for sharing.

Wookie thanks for giving them all a listen and your comments.  I'm not overly surprised about the drums being picked at, I'm not a drummer and it isn't my strong area, but overall I'm pretty happy with them knowing they can improve (hopefully in future projects).    Is it fair to say they don't kill the song though, they could just be better?

    Yes.

Stick around here listen to all you can, read what people say about the mixes, composition and instrumentation.  No need to comment unless you feel inclined and be honest in what you say and you will learn some very useful information.  Oh and ask question here and in the techniques forum.
