Thanks Janet, yes if you A/B this with my original version from back in the day (on tape) it's the same song, but with a completely different presentation being all orchestra :-)

About halfway through listening... have to comment - the orchestra is suiting this really well. I haven't listened to the original so don't know how it compares, but it reminds of an album I owned a long time ago where Mike Batt and Justin Hayward did orchestrally arranged versions of rock classics.

Possibly the only thing I might add to the mix would be some orchestral toms to give a better sense of rhythm in some of the louder bits.

You've done a really great job with the orchestra.

 This would be perfect with a Bass guitar moving around and sliding in the back ground. But drums would be a must ever so slightly and also sounding out loud at times.

You know this, I'm sure. Send me an .mp3 and I'd like to try. With guitar also. This is probably too good for me to mess around with. But I'd love to just have some fun playing around with it.

Thanks Robert for confirming my feelings on this. I wanted to try to make it something (an orchestra number) when it wants to be something else... 

The orchestration is really interesting. There are a lot of really great stuff going on in there. I think you experimented a tad too much. I'd like to hear this one without the vocals... since there's so much going on it's really hard for the listener to concentrate on the vocals and the orchestra at the same time. I think you have two really good things going here which together are too much. Either way I think there is a lot of great stuff in it.

Although I do hear a larger/wider and deeper sounding piano alongside your vocals during the intro (and a tad more pedal work), the piano partition works very well when the arrangement gets busier. Very well done on this also (the arrangement). I particularly enjoyed the harp (amongts many very effective orchestral sprinkles of color). Musical'ish genre? Is this something you're interested in? Overall, this was a most enjoyable listen (more than once). Sounds very good in the cans and I will certainly take the time to have a listen... or two on the speakers. Bravo! 

An orchestration (being a combo guy, I had to look up the word in the dictionary) --- aren't you ambitious.  And didn't your ambition turn out well?  I am not competent enough to comment on the technical aspects -- all I know is that is sounded great to me.

Seems like a challenging song to sing. Is this in the right key for your vocals? It seems a little out of your comfort zone.

It definitely shows that you put a lot of work into that orchestration. It is a nice change of pace for you. Oh, and that waveform is pretty sexy.
