Hardware not syncing(illuminating) with software

Hey yall,

I just picked up the V-Studio 20 a few months ago and have been playing around with it on and off.  After the Cakewalk software crapped out on me and tech support helped me get it working again...now that it's hooked up, I'm not getting any response from the hardware...that is, the only lights that are lit up are the A track group, and the input selector.  No tracks , play, pause, stop buttons, nor any of the volume knobs are working.  The software is fine, but of course, I'd rather be able to use the hardware interface.

I've tried the normal stuff...unplugging/plugging in, restarting the computer...but for some reason I'm still not getting a response from the hardware.

Any help would be appreciated as I try to get better with this stuff.  Thanks

did you install the updates yet?.there is an update that helps the vs20 to stop being disconested from the software.you also might want to go into your driver settings in..im assuming guit trax4?..you didnt say what your using for software.
go into drivers setting make sure its connected in there.then also make sure its showing up as"daw control"..heres a link to the update.

Hey man thanks a lot for the info.

    For clarification--yes, I'm using Guitar Tracks 4.

I checked my hardware and the VS-20 is listed in there with its own icon in my control panel.  When I attempted to search for new hardware, my system said that it didn't find any new hardware.  When I checked my devices menu, the VS-20 was listed there too

Also I installed that link that you put (2007013172) as was recommended by the tech support crew to solve the problem i had with the software interface.

I'm using Windows XP 2002 version, 2.8 ghz processor, 504 RAM.

Thanks for your help.  Anything else you need to know?
