The Key Of Gee---a play, a song. With rough vocals. Warning--explicit lyrics.

I found some people doing a play, and needed someone to play the guitar.  They gave me a copy of their song, sung with acoustic guitar.  In the play, the song is a 'futuristic chart topping song' so that's the task I undertook.  Not sure if I got there.

Here's the music only.  I recorded a rough version with my vocals, but they're kinda dirty vocals and this is a family environment....oh okay, I just really suck at singing.

Anyway.....

this was the first time I'd ever ventured into some of these areas of Cakewalk.  It was a blast!  And the playwrights love what I did.
So, any advice, criticism, etc, please, let me know.

Interesting would like to hear the version with vocals as it is apparent that it needs.  You can always warn in the link of vocal content.  Can not comment on mix as I am only listening on a set of TEAC coaxial speakers, on which it does sound well balanced.

Okay, uploaded with my vocals.  Feel free to make fun of my singing....err, if that's what you want to call it.  They wanted rough vocals to help them with the arrangement.  I could only find a 6' xlr cable, as most of my stuff is at my downtown studio, so I was leaned over, looking up at the computer monitor, trying to fit the words into place.

So have a good laugh with this song.  Their play is actually pretty good.

I see the printed lyrics are not quite what you sing.

As you said they could be perceived by some as offencive you may get some feedback on that but you do warn.

The song definitely works better with a vocal and I suspect that within the setting of the play would be understandable.

As to the quality of the singing all I can say is have you ever heard a Wookiee sing.

    Thanks for re-sharing.

I have a hard time getting past the lyrics.  I could live with the vocal but I've never been able to understand the necessity for that type of lytics.  Dacookster, that's just me.  There are many that don't think that way.  I guess in a way it's because I struggle so hard to come with lyrics that to me , well,  I don't know.  Music is ok.  Please take no offense at this.  I look forward to hearing other tunes that you do.  AND... you did warn us.
