RXP Groove Browser...adding RX2 files?

Hi,

I'd like to add some additional content folders of RX2 files to the RXP Groove Browser folder so that they show up in the groove browser drop down menu....

Anyone know how to do this?

I tried copying folders to the Shared DXi Folder where the the RXP resides, but the folders don't show up.

Thanks.

Instead of copying to the Shared DXi folder, go to that same location and open the RXP folder. Then open the Contents folder and copy the files there.

Then in RXP with the program browser open, press F5 to refresh the list.

Thanks Scott...the F5 was my missing step :-)

Would it be possible to store rx2 files in another drive and folder other than the default RXP/Contents folder, and still have those rx2 files show up in the Groove Browser of RXP?

    Thanks again.

I can't remember now, but I think the installer asks where you want to store the RXP files. I could be wrong though. And in any case, it would mean a reinstall.

You could also try editing the location in the Windows Registry located at:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\RXP

But again, not sure if that would work. Haven't tried either one.

If I understand your question correctly, viscant,  you can navigate to the folder you want added to the browser, using the "folders view" in the browser and while the folder is open, just click the Save icon at the top of the browser.  That will save the location so that it is in the drop down list at the top of the Media Browser.  You may have to expand the browser before you see the Save button.

Is this what you mean ?

IRC you might be able to change the drive, BUT NOT the sub folders if your one for messing with the reg entries. I think I tried in the past, with DP it worked and with RXP proved different.

also you might / should be able to drag / drop into RXP the rx2 file.

I'd like a shared RX2 folder that all things use alongside the standard sub folder for each thing.. e.g. beatscape . I use a stupid amount of rx2's for both sonar and reason

or a nice touch in the browser would be to check for a midi file with the same name as RX2 and deal with it. I make up alternate midi's for rx2's to make say a 1-2 bar loop upto 32 bars with variants.
