Lost midi input.
I have been using soft synths with no problem for a while now and all of a sudden I have lost the capability. I use windows XP 64 bit through a Tascam FW1884. A friend sent me a file he wanted me to add strings to and ever since I loaded it I lost midi. The midi symbol at the bottom of the PC screen used to flash red lights when I played midi, that no longer does, but the fact that it shows up means it recognizes a midi connection doesn't it? I assigned my midi to Channel 1 on my Tascam and that still shows input from the keyboard when I play it. I have'nt touched any of the midi cables or any cables at all. Everything else works fine, just lost midi input capability. My input and output devices are checked as fw1884 control as usual, driver profiles FW 1884.
appreciate any/all help

look in OPTIONS>MIDI DEVICES and make sure your MIDI ports are recognized and selected.
