I started into multi track with a Teac 4 track reel to reel I bought from a marine who had bought it in Okanawa and didn't want to carry it to his next deployment.
It was pretty cool but had the inherent problems of tape,,,,, very hard to edit, the brakes were not synced and the tape used to jump off the reel and wrap around the spindle.
I sold it to a guy who used it to bootleg 8-tracks..... he later got busted by the feds and spent a loooooooooong time in the pen.
I never regretted selling it. Now... here I am with a digital recorder..... I have no desire to go back to tape..... but, kudo's to you on scoring a nice reel to reel. It looks cool if nothing else.
