Dr. Blues (with the perfect lead by CLEAN)

Back to the Blues.  When you're feelin' blue and don't know what to do --- you can always turn to the Blues.  This is an attempt to go back in the alley and get that old-time, early electric Blues sound.
Thanks to Mark (CLEAN) for adding an absoflippinlutely perfect lead guitar to this number and for his help in getting me out of my confusion during mixing (thanks Mark!).

Thanks for listening in advance and as always comments, suggestions, crit's, etc. are appreciated.

    Great mix Freddy.

For my taste maybe add just a tad of verb to the voice. The vocal seems a little dry (to me) even though I think I hear a little delay on the voice (or is it small room verb?).

A little slap back on the vox would give this a cool vibe.

The drum roll didn't swing. It was even.

Nice guitar work.... I like a dose of the blues from time to time and this was right on time.

nice job FreddyJ.  That's an awesome guitar player behind you there!  :-)  Maybe I can borrow him sometime.  LOL  This is a good blues tune.  I had a couple gut wrenching moments.  That's a good gut wrench!  Like when I try to bust a move in my chair and hurt myself.  Great job, guys!

Wow, guys!  Great duo.  Mark's guitar is perfect.  Drums have been addressed.  slap back delay is good idea on vox.  Also, it's probably not a popular idea but the vocals could use slight brightening ...a touch of some 2k eq.

Loads of fun, as usual with a Freddy tune.

    Hi, Freddy,

Dynamite job on this by both you and Mark!

Well written, great playing, super job on the vintage blues vocals, and Mark's classy lead work was the perfect icing on the cake!

    Nice work, boys!

Hello Bapu.  Thanks for the feedback and suggestions --- I need all the help I can get.  I did use a little delay in recording this.  In fact, I ran the mike directly through my Boss delay box rather than a Sonar based FX.  I am still a bit shy about using too much delay as I have been guilty of abusing it before --- so, the vox is probably still a bit too dry and the performance probably a bit too Perry Como-ish.

Hi Herb.  Yup, I'm gonna have to do something to the vocal and I'll have to go back and see what can be done about those fills.  Thanks for the input.

Hey BIABDude.  Thanks for the listen and comment.  Message received on the fills.  :>)

    Thank you Janet!!

Hi Robby.  Mark has a great style on the guitar and some of the best phrasing that I have ever heard  --- and did he do a great job on this lead or what??

Hey Warren.  Ya that guy is an excellent guitar player.  You should try him out some time.   Next time I do a collab on one of my songs, I need to get a good bass player and someone that can do some passionate vocals  -- hmmmmm  (are you looking in the mirror)-- .  Thanks for the listen and the comments buddy.

Hi Rick.  Thanks for the kind comments and for the great suggestions.  As soon as I get some time (believe it or not that is hard to do in retirement) I'm going to have to look at the mix again.

Hello Scotty.  Thanks for listening and for the kind comments.

Thank you Phil.  I really appreciate the kind comments.

Thanks for listening John and thanks for the kind words.

Hi Bill.  I very glad that you liked it.  Thanks for commenting.

Hey Bob.  Classy lead -- yup that describes it.  Mark's work definitely makes the song.  Thanks for listening and taking the time to comment buddy.
