Is there anyway to arm the selected track to record without have to unarm other tracks.

Not sure what you mean... you can arm as many tracks as you'd like.

What exactly are you trying to do? The steps you're taking...

Say if I just recorded a bass on one track and I was going to record guitars next, I want to be able to click the arm button on the guitar track and the bass track automatically become unarmed instead of manually unarming the bass . This is somthing I am used to as a protools convert.

I have the opposite problem here! I want to arm a track and have the currently armed track automatically unarm... Maybe we can help each other. Did you ever figure out what was happening for you ?

It's something I used to use in Cubase some years ago, when doing live recordings - there was a setting to automatically arm the selected track which would follow when you switched tracks, so I could switch from instrument to instrument while playing and automatically create clips. I don't think the same thing exists in Sonar; the solution is to just leave all tracks in record and switch them, recording everything, and then edit into clips later. If you're recording audio it would lay down a lot of data, but that's not such a terrible thing really.

It's actually more than two clicks: you have to find the track, make sure the R button is visible by scrolling/expanding then click it.
