Jamstix in Sonar X1

Hi
Has anyone got Jamstix 3 to work In sonar X1.64 bit
I eventually got sonar to recognize Jamstix 3 and the M8dll.

I am not quite sure how Jamstix works in sonar , if I put Jamstix inserted on a Audio track  it is ok. Then If I put the M8 in Fx bin Sonar goes white on my Win 7 64 bit and freezes and blue screen.
I know in Fl Studio ,You insert Jamstx 3 on a track and put the M8 in the Fx section and all works ok,but not in Sonar X1 64bit.
my workaround for this is to make a drumtrack in FL Studio and then export as midi track.
I find Jamstix too annoying in this version of Sonar.

I have Fm8, sampletank ,Sonic Synth, sampletron, samplemoog,Pro 53,plus all FL vst's and Garritan that all work great in Sonar.

Can anyone help here

All the best
John

    Works OK for me.

Try using the Synthrack to iinsert Jamstix as that will create all the proper tracks and connections then insert M8 into the first track created for Jamstix

I cannot get drag and drop midi to work with Jamstix and X1 on Win 7 64. Anybody else experiencing this?

I need to verify that this is how I did it but.....
I inserted a multitrack instance of a Superior Drummer kit in Sonar X2 and then inserted another multitrack instance of Jamstix. I think iset the outputs of each jamstix track to it's corresponding Superior D track. (kick to kick and so on)

I think to use the Superior Drummer or Session Drummer midi tracks into Jamstix I brought Jamstix up in stand alone mode and imported the midi files into it and saved them into the Jamstix Standalone folder.  Then when I went into Sonar the midi was already in Jamstix just like the "songs" that come as part of it from the "Jamstix factory."

I realize that I'm responding to an ancient post but I just got Jamstix last weekend and was trolling for any tips that might be in this forum.

You should download the update to jamstix 3.5 if you are 64 bit. It is completely 64 bit as well. You will want to read up on the update procedure. For me what worked best was to remove JS 3 and install JS 3.5 from scratch and then add the kits. After the vst scan it will use the same guid so it should load up and replace JS 3 in your existing projects. if memory serves it no longer needs the m8.dll

I have JS3 and run it on X1 with XP Pro/32. So I'm not at 64 bits and can't comment intelligently.

Certainly check and ask over on the JS forum. Their tech support is pretty good.

the m8dll does not go on the output of jamstix audio. If you are going to use it put it on another track that it is comping to or on a buss. M8 just rides the jamstix power and causes the drummer to play harder and more or softer and less depending on the incoming material. I prefer to driver the power with automation rather than use m8.

    Hey  Tom,
Thank for the response.  I have 3.5 installed and haven't had any trouble with it.  Sorry about the delayed response but haven't had much time to be online in a while.  I've got three grandkids living with me now running from about 6 weeks to almost 4 so trying to lay down any tracks is futile until late at night.  And then it is direct ins and headphones.   (I still love having them here though!)
Huh.  I was still using the M8.dll I think.  I'll look again the next time I get a chance to play.
