I've recently installed X1b on my XPsp3 laptop. I haven't had any problems so far. My machine is a bit below the recommended X1 specs ... I find that X1 performs about the same as 8.5. I'm working mostly on projects that I started in 8.5 -- soft synths, recorded guitar and bass, and audio loops. Haven't actually felt the need to open 8.5 since I upgraded.

I was and it worked fine.  I've moved to a win7x64 machine now, but I still have 8.5.3 and X1 on my old machine for reference if I need to return to it.

    Same here.
I'm still impressed with how stable it is considering the low specs

An 8.5.4 update wouldn't go a miss tho....
