Huge distortion in Session Drummer 2

I'm using Sonar 7 producer edition, 64 bit.

Until now I had not used session drummer 2 to sequence drum wav files. Today when I tried, I found that as soon as anything bassy played (low toms etc) the sound distorted terribly, dropped out, broke up, it just couldn't handle it.

I tried turning down each channel volume low, and I turned down the Session drummer 2 folder volumes down low as well. All that happened as a result is that instead of playing back loud distorted drums it played back quiet distorted drums.

Has anybody experienced this and found a solution?

I'm pretty sure this isn't a hardware/driver issue, but my system:

Windows 7 ultimate 64bit
Athlon AM2+ 2.71 GHz
4 gig RAM
Samples are located on second hard drive (not the Windows installation drive)
Audio interface is Line 6 UX1

I've used other cheaper sequencers for these wav files on the same system, and have never had issues like this before. Any advice would be appreciated.

I haven't heard of this problem, so it's not likely it's a problem with everyone, or even a lot of people.

when you drive your Session Drummer 2 with MIDI, what are the velocities of the MIDI notes you're sending to the kick?  what are the OUTPUT AUDIO meters peaking at (not on the MIDI track, on the Session drummer 2 audio output track).

    Hey, thanks for replying Beagle.

I just sorted it out now. In the mixer in Sonar the drum tracks were turned down, and in the Session Drummer folder in the Sonar mixer they were turned down, but in the mixer in the Session drummer GUI, they were turned up too high. I dialled the toms down a little in there, and it sounds fine now.

    Thanks :)
