No problem with seeing avatars but I keep getting an popup at the bottom of te screen telling me that Cakewalk is not responding and asking me if I want to recover the page... I think Amazon has slowed the whole internet down a bit... everythin seems just a little but quirky to me today.

Check and make sure the image doesn't exceed the file size allowed. If it does, just save it at a lower resolution?

Good deal, Viscant - Glad it's working right for you now.

Meanwhile - Beagle sed, "...randy - yeah, I've been wondering about your "mouse-atar" but just not enough to ask about it!..."

hehehe---Well, since you didn't ask, I'll tell y'all anyway.  Back when I decided it was high time to change avatars (I'd used the other one ever since forever)--My wife, Kate, suggested I take a picture of a beloved old toy of mine, my Mickey Mouse marionette from the early '50's.  I took a series of pictures, picked one, lovingly touched it up a little in PhotoShop, and uploaded it.

Believe it or not, all we did when we saw the result was to say, "aaaaah"-- not realizing that because of its peeling paint, it looks a little creepy.  Now there've been a few references to it on the Forum, mostly saying that it looks kinda scary but that it's cool.  Scariness wasn't intended - but I'll take that--That's cool with me!

So, when jbow sed "...Randy, I love your Mickey... it is almost as disturbing as a clown. Don't change it!..." - I'm taking that as good advice.

----it is kinda strange though, I admit.

Timidi sed, "...I've settled for this stock avatar. How do you guys change avatars?..." - There is a specific size limit to avatars.  Dang, I don't have the proportions handy - but the dimensions can't exceed a certain size, and the total file size has to be pretty small--Look around in your profile settings, I think it tells you somewhere in there.  I remember whittling away until I got the teeny size it'll accept.

Download a free program called pixresizer. It is very easy and has no spyware or malware to worry about. I keep it on my desktop. You just load a pic, choose the percentage you want to reduce it, where to save it, and if you want to keep the same format and click the button... done! I use it mostly to resize pics for avatars.

Good one, Julien - I use PhotoShop for such stuff, but not everyone has that.  You need to know the size limit of each Forum's avatar pictures so you know what to reduce to, and I know that info is somewhere here at the Forum, in our Profile settings or somewhere.

I get that too, there's an issue with the Telerik control used for upload.
I kept repeating and it worked. Don't know how your workaround will occur.

Here, I looked up the stats for my current avatar.  Since it complies with the Sonar Forum limits, make an image this size, and it'll work:

    145 pixels X 145 pixels
    49k

Like I said earlier - teeeeny.

Probably your forum settings.  You can turn them off in the settings.  Could have gotten damaged during the "cloud" burst! :)
