Random note fall out

I have all the latest X1 hotfixes up to 1b and the 4/19 quick fix.

Yet, the two biggest bugs I persistently run into with X1 are

1. Buggy snap to settings, which still come and go at times (sometimes they snap to the 1/16 segment, or 1/8 segment, sometimes they don’t, and i've played around with every preference snap to setting to no avail in terms of providing a steady fix), and now,

2.  I find that when I play a midi driven soft synth, X1 plays most, but sometimes eats (doesn't play) several the notes on playback.  It literally just doesn’t play them.  Then I’ll stop, play it again, and I will hear some of the skipped notes, but then some other notes are skipped. Very random.
It's not a "mute" issue.  I've been using Cakewalk/Sonar for years and know how mute works, and this has nothing to do with mute becuase again it is totally random.  I play the same track twice, I hear different notes silenced and different notes heard each time.
I checked "solo" vs "multi" sound settings in the synths, I checked portamento settings to make sure that isn't the issue, and then I thought this had to do with  X1 midi polyphony settings somewhere?  Because it happens across the board on all soft synths I’ve used like Rapture/TT 1, Session Drummer, etc.
It's not because I am overloading X1 on playback with too many tracks running midi, because it happens even if there are just two simple midi tracks with every other track frozen/archived..

The work around is I have been freezing the track which converts the sound it to audio, and this works.  None of the notes get eaten or silenced when I freeze the track.  But this is inefficient since every time I want to edit the piano roll I have to unfreeze and refreeze to hear the new edits…
Any tips on why notes are randomly being eaten?

I haven't ran in to the snap problem since X1b was released.

I have run in to midi notes being missed on one project. It was 2 wav tracks and 1 midi track using Session Drummer 3. I couldn't fix it no matter what I did. It played back ok, but when I exported the project, the same notes would be missing every time.

I solved it by doing a real time bounce.

There is a setting you can adjust called midi buffer or something like that in your INI file. If you do some searching on the forums you'll find more info on it, or wait for someone more knowledgeable about the setting to reply.

For the MIDI note problem try increasing your MIDI buffer - probably in Options/MIDI or in that vicinity.
