X1Power for Kindle
Hi Due to some publishing rights with Amazon only USA citizens can purchase the Sonar X1 power book for Kindle. I am from UK and am willing to pay half the cost with someone from the states if they would send me the file . I would pay through Pay Pal immedietly.I just want this so as I can read anywhere. Hi John, Yep, I'm very sorry for the delay. The publisher is working on getting the international distribution deal completed with Amazon, and hopefully, it will be done soon. I don't have an exact date yet though. Also, the Kindle is a protected file format, so I'm pretty sure you can't have one Kindle user exchange books with another. I think the books need to be purchased under the account that they'll be used. Thanks, Scott -- Scott R. Hi John, Nope... they're two separate editions. Actually, just to clarify for everyone... I'm only the author. The publisher actually owns the book, so they determine everything about it, including how it is sold. I actually don't have copies here that I can sell myself. Thanks! Scott -- Scott R. Scott, which version do you prefer - the printed version or the Kindle version? If you could just pick one, which would it be? Do the Kindle version open in an iPad?

I have the Nook, not the Kindle. I'll have to see if it's there.

I actually like having both, but the eBook version does offer a couple advantages in that you can search the material by typing in keywords or phrase, etc. and also the Web links throughout the book are "live" so you can just click the links to access the Internet resources provided. Yes, Amazon has a free Kindle iPad reader... http://www.amazon.com/gp/...t_lnd?docId=1000490441 Thanks! Scott -- Scott R. Just thought I'd let all UK peeps know that there is a way to get the "USA version" of X1 Power on their UK kindle (or any kindle app/device) from Amazon. I am from the UK and have X1 power on my kindle as we speak! As a kindle owner, I am sick and tired of how we in the UK have to wait forever for all the good stuff US customers can enjoy presently such as the games etc. Anyway, very simple work around is just to add a US address to your account and switch to Amazon.com via "Manage your kindle page". Here is a link to the thread: http://www.mobileread.com...howthread.php?t=100760 Snippet from the thread: I only have one Amazon account, it which was set up on Amazon.co.uk, I have two addresses linked to that account, one UK and one US, and I log in with a UK email address When I log into either Amazon sites its using my UK Amazon email address. I have no idea how its all working 'officially', all I know is its working for me. When I want to buy from the US store I always change my address on the UK 'Manage Your Kindle page', then I select the link which takes me to the US store. Coming back to the UK I add my UK address on the US 'Manage Your Kindle' page, then I select the link which takes me to the US store.

I thought Amazon allowed you to "loan" books to friends now? I know that's not a permanent solution...but would be a way to review the e-book version.

Surely you can buy a book as a gift for someone? I bought my daughter a Kindle for her birthday - what if I want to buy her some more books too?

garrigus Hi Sam, That's awesome! Thanks very much for posting the info. Quick question... how do you get a US address from outside the US? Scott -- Scott R. Yea, as others mentioned, you can use any address. Maybe a family member or if not just use any US address. Once books are purchased, just change back to UK. Simples! Good book as always Scott. Cheers. Just a shame that this should be a UK Kindle from the start.

Hey Sam, No problem... thanks for the additional info! I'll have to write something up and pass this on to readers. I appreciate it. At least this way, it's still accessible. re: UK Kindle... well, it turns out that the publisher didn't previously have an international distribution deal for Kindle. This is a company-wide thing, which they are working on now. But supposedly, the Kindle version of the last edition (SONAR 8 Power) wasn't available outside the US either. I had no idea. I think that's because the Kindle wasn't very popular back then, but nowadays, a lot of people seem to be using them. Thanks again! Scott -- Scott R.
