Looking for a good dumsampler.

I used to make rythms in DK+ a while back. Then I laid the composing aside for a while.
Now after converting to Win 7 64Bit, it won't work. I tried the demo of the newest version, but that too failed.

Has anyone got a drumsampler to reccomend? I know there are lots of freeware out there, and I have tried quite a few. But no one comes near the
easy interface of DK+. I don't mind paying for it, just not several hundred bucks! I've already got Stylus RMX and Session drummer, but a Session drummer-like sampler is not what I am looking for.

I have tons of samples from magazines and freebies on the net. I want it to come to good use!

Please point me in the right direction!

Here is an off the wall idea.

As I read it you want something that will load up your wav files and lit you trigger them from some drum pads, a keyboard or step sequencer.
Why not a good sampler that will do drums and a whole lot more besides?

Independence basic is 83 euros (assuming you can avoid the EU VAT as you are in Norway) Its simple to assign one shop samples to keys and build velocity layers.

In addition you get 12GB of very usable content, some good built in effects and you can also create multi sampled non-percussion instruments. Its multitamberal and has a good mixer / routing section. The Pro version gives you a much bigger library. If you have more cash to spare PRO worth the extra for the Candy Saxes. Majestic Basses and the KHSO orchestral samples, of course you have a use for them.

The only downside is you wont get the drum machine look and its not as sophisticated as Kontakt and does not have all the scripting options, but its cheaper and less complicated too.
If you want to demo it you can try Independence Free, it comes with some good sounds and lets load up to 25 of your own samples.

Thank you for the useful info!

I'll check out Independence and see if I like it.
I'll check out the other thread aswell. Didn't know about it.
Sorry for being so short in my reply, but I have to go off to work...

A little update: I went for RP Punch. The best of two worlds :) I haven't learned half of it yet.
