Can't recorde with "what you hear" as the source.

I have just switched to windows 7 with a new computer and am having some problems recording.  I have a Creative sound blaster card and have selected the "what you hear" option as the source.  In Sonar 8 Studio, the meters are running that shows it detectst the audio (I'm using a test clip from you tube)  When I click the record button the zigzag sound waves appear as the curser scrolls but when I hit stop, nothing is recorded.  I just get that horrible flat line that tells you immdediately that it did not work!   Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Ok, Michael PLEASE DO NOT make multiple threads about the same question.  we cannot help you if you do this because we can't keep all of the information in the same thread to be able to help.  please go back to your original post and post this information there and let's try to stay in that thread until THIS problem is solved and then if you have a DIFFERENT problem you can post a new thread, please????

It really was not a "multiple thread" so much as a clarification.  I thought my problem was only with the "what u Hear" setting and then realized that I could not get any recording to work.  I'm new to the forum and was trying to provide as much info as possible.  I suppose I should have just responded to my own post with the new information.  I certainly was not trying to be one of those people who post the same question over and over again.
