I don't know about Echoes, but the Nomad Blue Tubes delays/oilcan are very good for that analog sound.  The Echo unit ought to be at least as good I would think.

Yes it sounds really great too but you have more OPTIONs in Echoes. The Blue Stereo Delay sounds great too and all the other plugins in the total Blue Tube series.... Any Nomad Factory plugins sounds great. That's why I like Nomad so much...

If you currently own any Nomad Factory plug-ins (just one will do), you can upgrade to ISP III (includes Echo and Magnetic II) for $99.  Of all the special offers I've seen since the beginning of the "silly season" - this tops them all IMHO.

Yes I got in on the $99 deal. Really good plugs here. I really like the Chorus!! Echos is really nice too!! If you haven't picked this up, may want to get it while the gettn's good!! [edit] I would also agree with this being a crazy season for buying plugs. never thought I would have sooo many!! But at real good prices!! Spent less that $300 in the last 3 months on plugs!! I need to stay off this forum. I'm going to go broke!![/edit]

I am still pondering whether to get the $99 deal or not. I know it's an insane deal, but I'm just not sure there's anything in there I'd need, and that's a $99 I could also put on my upgrade to Logic Pro, with which I'll get a few extra plug-ins I was missing.

I already have Magnetic II and the Mastering suite. 

I have a couple of 3rd party compressors, but I virtually never use any of those, as my bundled compressor works better for me - even on the master buss. For reverbs, I have my  bundled reverbs, impulse-based reverb and ValhallaRoom, which is pretty much all I need. 

Echoes seems to be the other NF plug-in which really stands out. But then again, I have an excellent (though relatively basic) Tape Delay, as well as RP Delay and, upgrading to Pro, I'll get my hands on Delay Designer, which looks like the mother of all delays.

I should mention that I find myself less and less inclined to add analog warmth emulation - which I could always access using my native compressor or Wave Arts Tube Saturator. 

What else is there that I'm missing in that NF complete bundle, what would you guys consider must-have?  Or have I really reached that point where I don't need anything else?

Yeah, I just hate to pass on such a deal. But I don't seem to need anything else - even if I don't have a thousandth of what Bapu or OlPal have in their plug-in folders. ;)

ok , since some of you have both the fab filter AND nomad stuff.. you had to get rid of one set of plugs, which would it be ?

I would like ALL makers to make a standard type listing / symbol for categories so I don't have to re-read specs and what things do...to make sure there is no cross over in plugs. kinda like for food, where the contents are in a standard form.

a new thread would have been better as reading the top you think ohh $49.. then it's in april!!

FabFilter or Nomad? That is the easiest question you could ask. I would never give up FabFilter plugs for any equivalent Nomad plugs. They are not in the same zip code as far as I can see. I have the Pro bundle plus Volcano 2 and Timeless 2. For me the value in the Nomad plugs was in all the analog processing stuff like Magnetic 2 that rode along with the license for a price point that made it easy to purchase.

Not a putdown of Nomad by any means. Just a reflection of how high quality the Fabfilter stuff is.

Must agree with you Ken!  Fabfilter is in another league to most plugins; I have the FX Bundle and love it/them.  However, I find three of the Nomad's that are really useful:  Magnetic II, Echoes and strangely enough their Pulse Tec-Eqs.  Magnetic is really warm and "round" and can add that analogish quality I personally like.  The Pulse Tec-Eq does not really compare to either UAD-s or Track's versions, but I find it just what I need on my B3 organs--it helps them sit in the mix just right.  Soloed it is too bright, but in the mix it works for me.  NF's Echoes is also very good for simple tape delays, but Timeless2 is in a a different zipcode, no a different galaxy from the other.  These three NFs are the only ones I use frequently.  Not that NF plugins are bad, in fact they are really good and Iam glad I got them; they just are not in the same league with Fabfilter's Pro line.


Back to your question.  Get Fabfilter while they are on sale!  Really get them now!  They do not have frequent sales.  You will not regret it, and wonder why you did not get it sooner.
