note not sounding after editing in piano roll view

Hi,

I just downloaded and installed X1 (studio version) and am following along with the Sonar X1 Experience tutorials, which are excellent.  I made my own version of the instructor's X-plained file with a drum loop, bass guitar, cow bell and shaker.

Then I recorded my own piano part using the Roland Groove soft synth.  This part is just 7 whole notes long.  I went to piano roll view to clean it up and found that after moving the notes into position at the beginning of the measures, the the D in measure 6 would not sound.  It is not muted and it has velocity.  I tried everything I could think of to fix this including re-recording the part.  I could hear all the notes right after recording, but every time I went to move the notes around to clean them up, this particular note would stop sounding.   Does this have something to do with using whole notes?  If somebody could help me with this I would greatly appreciate it. Here is a link to the CWP file (audio files not included, but the soft synth tracks work OK).  Thanks very much.

Everything plays OK in Sonar SE 8.5. I've moved the notes around and that doesn't affect anything as far as I can tell and I can't reproduce the problem. Is the file you posted before or after you edited the midi?

Maybe the problem is X1 specific and you'll get better response if you post this in the X1 forum.

    Hi Chappel,

Thanks for looking into it.  I will try posting in the X 1 forum.  To answer your question, the file I posted was after editing the MIDI.

    Hi again Chappel,

I posted this question to the X1 forum and got some good advice.  In the end I think it is a hardware setup problem because I tried changing driver modes in Audio preferences tab.  I went back and forth a few times between different driver modes and ended up where I started, at MME-(32 bit), but after making those changes I played my song again, and all the notes were there!

I have emailed Cakewalk Support about this, thinking it must be a hardware setup problem.  Looking forward to their answer.  Thanks again.
