Truncating MIDI files

Hi,
I am new to Home Studio so forgive me if this is a dumb question.

I have opened a MIDI file and deleted quite a few measures to produce a backing track to match some printed sheet music I have in a book. I have used Edit-Delete applied to all tracks and made sure that I had the "Delete Hole" option selected. All the events have been successfully deleted and my backing track is how I want it, except ...

The length of the original track is 3m44s and the modified track is about 1m25s. When I play the track in home studio it stops at 1m25s but when I transfer the saved file to my keyboard or play it in a different package o the PC eg. vanBasco's Karaoke player, then it retains the original length of 3m44s i.e 2 minutes of silence on the end.

I have opened the modified MIDI file in Anvil Studio and successfully used the "truncate song" option to reduce the song's duration - but how do I perform this same operation in Home Studio?

Thanks.

Open the EVENT viewer and see if there are any MIDI events still showing past 1min 25sec.

    Thanks for reading.

I have checked the event viewer and the last entry is at 1m23s (MBT 45:04:000; Trk 5; Ch 7; Control; 11-Expression 127).

do you have track envelopes in the project?  if so, there may be nodes or changing data beyond your last point of the song.

I don't believe there are any envelopes.

I have selected and right-clicked on each track in turn and under the Envelopes menu there are options to "Create Track Envelope" or "Create Clip Envelope" but no option to show envelopes (which assume means there aren't any).
