It is MUCH bettyer than my Korean :) Please tell us where you are trying to draw a line - volume envelope? Audio or MIDI clip? Give us some for information, and then we can try to help you.

From the reference guide page 430: "The Line tool does not work on audio clips, MIDI clips or AudioSnap transients." no explanation why this would be the case though - all the other drawing tools work as expected on automation in e.g. an audio clip Simon

However it doesn't draw anything in both audio and midi track's any envelope automation parameter. Is it normal? Is Everyone experiencing the same problem what I have? Or is it just me?

It's a pity that Line draw tool is not work on clips. I expected it would work because I can use line draw tool in Protools. I wish Sonar could do that too. on next upgrade Anyway, Thank you so muuch

I'm not sure if the Line tool has other uses, but it is good for drawing linear crescendos and decrescendos in the PRV Controller Pane. Using the Freehand tool completely follows mouse movement, so any unsteadiness is reflected in the velocity "curve". As far an envelopes go, they're aleady lines (by default) so I guess it doesn't makes sense to use the Line tool?

Envelopes are already straight line segments by default, which is why the Line tool does not work with them. Scott -- Scott R. Apart from the fact that all the other tools do their stuff from any point between the 2 end nodes without you having to insert a node, so the logical use of the line tool would be to insert e.g. a linear fade towards the end of a clip. Not a big deal, just an inconsistency - being offered use of a tool that doesn't do anything

It is possible to draw a sequence of midi controller values freehand, but not a straight line. This is really not the same thing as an envelope. Would be much better if the line tool would work on this. A sine, triangle, square and "random" drawing tool works for this, but not straight line.
