Of course now everyone will be hoping for you to play Take Five or some Pink Floyd covers, maybe even some Romeovoid, or, or, or...  lol!

Or Yakety Sax so we can make a video with Bapu and Mooch.  I haven't figured who will be chasing who.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot--hey, who the hell are you guys?

Jules, you prompted me to look at my dads old sax which he gave to me, based on your journey.

It is an Elkhart whcih is supposed to be made by Beucher, but from what I read Beucher should be somewhere on the body, which it isn't. It has the engraving of the Elk inside a heart and the SN is 30150 which supposedly put its manufacture around 1926-27.

Goggling it doesn't give me a lot of info , so I am looking for a saxaphone forum to post on about it

Green Acres is the place to be

Musicman, that's exactly what I did... sax People? something like that... I was told that because it was "stenciled" with a different name than Beucher, the serial number doesn't really mean anything. My serial number would put it a LOT earlier than what we think it is. But, dating (I guess) is best based on the waythe tone holes were formed and other details. So, I don't know.. They want lots of good pics of the serial, the tone holes, etc. Which is why I conveniently had a photo to post! I'm just glad it's a "low pitch" model. Otherwise, it would almost be worthless.

My mother is a SAINT. She rivals Mother Theresa. Not. Kidding. It's a bit hard to live up to, sometimes, but the benefits are nice. :)

Jules,
That's a great story.  Beucher saxes are highly sought after.  Unfortunately, I don't know much about yours.

Now for the real question!  When do we get to hear you play somethin' ?  That is, after your mouth stops hurting and all?  I suggest the theme song to Sanford & Son.

Janet, I readily admit to not being perfect technically (picking it up again pretty quickly though), but musically, I'm a better player. Would never have been able to improvise or "hear" anything not written down back in high school. So, that's pretty nice. Bub, I have no idea what that is. I'm sure it's pretty awful that I don't know. :S. Middleman, if I happen across it, I'll definitely pm you.

You'll enjoy being a better player musically. The technical part will come back I'm sure.  :)
