wrong note when exporting midi to audio
I export a Kontakt (Session Strings) midi file to audio (wav), but 2 notes were exported wrong, too deep. I re-checked the original file, the midi notes are correct. Any ideas what might cause this behaviour?

too deep This means the pitch is too low? By how much? Are there any controllers in the track?

yes, pitch is too low. about a half-step. no, there are no controllers in the track.

And it plays back correctly in real-time? Try freezing it before export. This shouldn't really have any effect as it's mostly the same rendering code, but it might. Also, SONAR uses your ASIO buffer size as the default buffer for processing mixdowns. If it's very low, you can have problems with some synths. Try temporarily doubling it. If that solves the problem, there is a parameter called BounceBufSizeMsec in AUD.INI that you can set to have SONAR use a larger buffer for offline (i.e. fast bounce) rendering.

I double-checked playback and midi source, it plays back correctly, and has the correct pitch. I increased buffer size to 1024, froze the track before exporting, but same problem. One note is a half-step too low. any other ideas?

One note is a half-step too low. any other ideas? Perhaps it's an accidentally inserted pitch bend event which is hidden. Go to Event List and ask to see hidden clips, then look for the wheel data. native how can I see hidden clips? In the Event List view, there's a button for revealing hidden clips - Can't check right now to tell you exactly, but it's there. It's worth a try - I've often found unknown MIDI data by pushing that button. RB
