Long Wave Draw Times

Here's my scenario:  I'm beginning a brand new project.  I have multiple tracks armed for recording.  I record for a few seconds, then I want to undo the recording.  The waveforms take a long time to draw (sometimes nearly a minute), and I am unable to undo the recording until they are finished.  This only happens the very first time I try to record - after that the waveforms draw quickly.  Anyone have any experience with this?

I'm running Producer 8.5.3 on a quad-core Mac Pro under BootCamp.

Thanks for your help.  Jeff Knauff.

Ok...I'll chime in to give you a bump for further knowledge.

I'm still on Sonar 5.0 but here's my take.
Is your 'Picture Cache' folder maxed out?
If so, close Sonar, delete all .wov files (Pic Cache folder) and the audio will redraw when you open Sonar again.

If you are worried you can wait for others to comment further.

    Good luck....

Just thought I'd chime in here, I've been experiencing the same problem for a while and just dealing with it, as frustrating as it is. I saw this solution up here, but figured "there's no WAY a simple picture cache folder could cause all this lag when I go to "undo"." I decided to take the advice, and lo and behold it fixed it.

Being as OCD as I am about my recordings, I hit stop-undo-record about a hundred times a session, the time having to wait really added up.

In conclusion: thank you for the advice. You've saved me literally hours of time.
