what I meant by locking the drive letter was in windows.  here are some directions on how to do that:

most of the time this isn't a problem until you add or subtract a drive from your system.  windows assigns the same letter each time unless your system changes, then it decides if it wants to assign a different letter or not.  I always use this method to lock in the assignment even if the system changes.  that way I can add and subtract USB drives without windows complaining by changing the drive letter assignments.

so you can do that to change your drive letter back to G if you want and that hopefully would solve your problem.  if something else is already assigned to G, then change THAT drive to something else like Z and then change your samples drive to G and then you can change your other drive back to H or whatever you want it to be.

you also can set the default location in the play engine interface on the browser page , I think its under the the Favorites tab you right click on the library and you can set the default path for the libraries

i know for Kontakt you can always "rescan" for the library at another user "browsed" location, but I don't have Play or any EW products, so I wasn't sure about that.
