MIDI Capture

Just watching an 'in the studio' vid on youtube, and the guy was trying out a vsti synth line in Logic which he ended up liking and, but hadn't recorded. He hit his shortcut key for Logics Capture feature, and the midi he had just played appeared.

Do we have anything like that I have overlooked? If not, can I get it....

Pretty nifty - But I've never heard of anything like that.  If Sonar has a tool like that, I'm sure not aware of it.

Fl Studio has this feature, called score logger. It runs a 3 minute buffer that you can dump into the piano roll. I guess the alternative discipline is just recording everything anyway, just in case.

This is one of the reasons I like to use FLS as a sketch pad. It's very handy to be able to just noodle around and transfer the results when I hear something I like. I personally prefer that to deliberately recording everything all the time, and in FLS this works whether the transport's running or not.
