Issue with AIF samples in X1

Right. I have a bunch of AIF files in my drum samples collection. Some of them play just fine when inserted in the sequencer, while some others become unrecognizably distorted. No matter if I just drag it in or use the import dialog. It's as if there was a +24 gain applied upon importing, except the meter doesn't go over 0.0db. But I do see the waveform becoming completely squashed and destroyed. Now, I know these samples are good as foobar, kontakt or anything else will play them as they should be. So since some of these sounds import fine and some other don't, I'm having a hard time pinpointing the cause of the issue. I'm forced to resample the sounds through kontakt if I want to use them. Anyone encountered this?

This is a result of "little-endian" vs "big-endian"
    Here's a link that explains:
    http://www.cs.umass.edu/~verts/cs32/endian.html

You need to convert the problematic AIFF files to little-endian.
    They'll load and playback properly...

are they from mac ? dunno if you go out to DOS / cmd window but they do have they AIFF  or AIF extension ? maybe that is causing issue.  that would be the first thing I'd check.

I'm not sure if AIFF samples can be signed and unsigned  etc, so maybe that is why they are importing that way.. e.g. importing as signed.. when they they are unsigned or visa versa.

how do they preview in import audio ? maybe if your project is say 16 bit.. and the samples are 24 bit.. that it's not adjusting em ? just a thought.

    I'd just use

    http://www.wavosaur.com

    press B (batch mode)

there is a WAV save option in the list

    . hopefully that'll fix it

use 2 separate folders 1 for load / saving
