Heads up ! Focusrite Guitar FX Plug-In Suite for £20 at Digital Village

http://www.dv247.com/guit...x-plug-in-suite--61788

I got mine in the post today not sure how it is to use though but for £20 you cant have enough plugins...... Or so I keep trying to convince my self !

Anyone used this before and how have you found it ? Ive yet to find a Guitar Plugin I like I hate Pod farm and guitar rig. There's some nice sounds on Shred/Acme Bar gig and I hope to find a few on the Focusrite sounds :)

I've been playing around with the free version of Amplitude 3... which is fully functional but minus alot of the fx and amp models that come with the full version. Pretty friggin' amazing too. I've been bypassing the amp and cabs that come with it and just patching into the rack and stomp FX's. My Ibanez AE, which is not the best sounding AE anyway, finally sounds good to my ears. It comes with the Custom shop DL that let's you demo and purchase a motherload of awesome racks, amps, stomps, etc. Sounds so much better than the previous versions. Bit of a cpu hog but allows you to choose the sound quality level thus reducing load. Kick a*s tones and textures I've been able to get out of my crappy Ibanez.

I played around (very little) with free version of A3 and couldn't get any distortion on the amps.....so, I gave up after about 15 minutes. I really should look into this more....thanks for the reminder.

I was getting too much distortion and was looking for a cleaner tone. A strat or LesPaul would be a different story though. But my Ibanez AE is just too muddy and chubby sounding anyway to use with any distortion. Well, I suppose I could've spent more time tweaking but the better guitar/pickup, the better any software will sound. I did mic a Yamah acoustic I have, which is far superior to the Ibanez and that just sounded beautiful... unfortunately I'm having some trouble with my AKG condenser and had to switch back to an SM58... not as tasty sounding, obviously, for micing acoustic guitars. New Strat is in order for my B-day.

I played around with the Focusrite sounds for the first time today and I was very happy with the results.

I only used two. One that emulates the sounds of a Dual Rec and another a Marshall but I was happy with the sounds a few very good sounding presets in there

Ive found this to be better sounding than the other amp sims I have ( Pod farm, Guitar rig etc ) I know other amp sims have more in them but some times less is more and thats what Ive found with the Focusright plugs well worth the £20 if any one hasnt got it yet
