V-Vocal in X1: Workflow + Anything New?

Hey all,

I recently went back to V-Vocal for a project when Melodyne couldn't stop crashing my system and I have to say the workflow with V-Vocal in X1 is REALLY nice. So far I've found Melodyne a bit more transparent for critical work, but the ease of simply creating clips (offline, NOT waiting for realtime like the Melodyne plugin) AND having a new clip automatically created AND having the old ones moved down in layers AND having them muted is REALLY nice.

For those that have used V-Vocal regularly over the years- is X1 any different? Better? I don't remember the automatic layer creation and muting of original clips, but it's been so long I don't remember. I haven't used it since version 6 or 7...

Peace,

Tunes

V-Vocal is the same in X1. Yep, it did the same thing with the original clip in previous versions too.

It's had the same behaviour since 6PE - I don't think it was part of Sonar prior to that.

What is a semi-decent vocal enhancement plugin that is free? Is there such thing? Currently i am using the plugins that came with Sonar X1 LE. Also, could y'all tell me a good vocal enhancement plugin that will cost money? Thanks, Tom.

Don't know about free, but Celemony Melodyne allows you to correct the pitch and timing of your vocals (and other audio), if that's what you're looking for.

Awesome, thanks! Would you recommend that over V Vocals?

Since you have SONAR X1 LE, then the only way to get V-Vocal would be to upgrade your version of SONAR. V-Vocal isn't available as a separate program/plug-in.

But yes, Melodyne provides better processing.
