Quick tempo question
I have finished recording a whole song with several tracks, but I have since decided that I want to re-do the song with a faster tempo. I was going to just re-record the whole thing again with the new tempo, but I am wondering if there is an easy way to change what I've done so far with Sonar? A search suggested Audio Snap, but that looks complicated. I'm just wondering if there is an easy way to speed up my whole song? I'm thinking like export it down to a single wav, and then just speed up the wav, hopefully with out changing the pitch? Thanks in advance!

You have to use audiosnap. If you speed up the WAV, the pitch will rise. The best solution is to re-do the tracks.

You could try shortening each recorded audio clip proportionally to fit the project, using Cakewalk Time-Stretch audio effect: Select clip, Process menu > AudioFx > Cakewalk > Time/Pitch Stretch 2 Don't expect perfect results though.

Thank you both. I remember doing that time/pitch stretch in the past but I couldn't remember what it was. Thanks! I think for this seeing as it's not a complicated song, I'll just re-make it. But in the future I'm going to learn how to use audio snap. Looks powerful.

What's gone? And yes, your best option is to definitely re-record the whole thing. I try to avoid this sort of thing by always building up my scratch tracks in Midi first, where you can change the tempo with a couple of mouse clicks.

Fastest way is to export it to wav-stereo, then import it to a new project and use "Process>length" (if that exists in X1).
SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre - Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc. The benefit of being a middle aged amateur is the low number of years of frustration ahead of you.
