Video trasnport extremely sluggish

Hello all.

I just got LE a couple weeks ago and am getting things sorted out with my VSTs and such.  I'm using X1 to sync/tweak scoring for a video.  I love the fact that I can import videos and sync them.  However, the transport is extremely slow.  Specifically:

1.  When I click on the video and use the arrow keys to advance by frame, it takes 1-2 seconds for each frame.
2.  Using the ruler is virtually impossible.  I cannot slide it at all and have to select a specific time that's in the ballpark and then get it down to the frame with slow method number 1.
3.  The "mini scrubber" in the transport module will not slide at all.  I can click along the line and it will jump there after several seconds, but sliding is totally out of the question.
4.  Scrubbing simply will not work because the transport does not keep up with my dragging at all.

This is only when I have a video loaded.  I use Nvidea 9800 GXs, very heavy duty video cards and can scrub vids all day long in Sony moviemaker with no problem.  So, I don't think it's my system.
