Hello Carl, This is a quite unusual piece. I love the atmosphere and mood created here. Interesting choice of sounds and solid performances all around. Powerful and original vocal style. Thumbs up for the bass player. I can't put my finger on the genre but I seem to hear a bit of Peter Gabriel in there somewhere. That's a compliment. No crits on the mix, I think its really nice........great job..............Ron

    Hi Ron,

Thanks for the comments. Never heard Gabriel in my writing but  suppose I've been influenced since I started listening to Genesis back in the 70's.
I'm not a bass player per se so I appreciate the thumbs up. I may add some bv's on the chorus & wrap this one up.

    best,

I hear Gabriel in the mix to, but I think a lot of us get inspired by someone to make music, nice job!

You are a much better musician than I am no doubt about that! I thought this sounded great!!!

Just one slight thought, and I might be completely wrong about this, it sounds like the bass volume is a bit too loud at times.  It could just be my speakers, or my hearing, I listened to some loud music on my headphones the other day and I hadn't done that in a long time so my hearing could be off, not to say it was ever right to begin with but I thought I should mention that. So don't take what I am saying as something that is accurate.

I really liked this, I liked everything in this song, some very creative music.

    Excellent!!!!

    Hi Rick,

Yes, I think musicians can be inspired unconsciously by other artists & it can seep into the tracks.

    Thanks for listening.

    Hi Serious Noize,

Thanks for the input.  Bass too loud in what way- guitar, kick or just low end in general? I did a remix using some new & updated vst's plus recorded some ideas for bv's. I started with the bass & drums so it might sound a bit cleaner now.

    Thanks again for your help.

I listened to it again today and it sound fine, it's probably just my hearing, sorry I shouldn't have even mentioned it. Listening to loud music for 2 hours straight with headphones can really make things sound strange for a day or two.

This sounds great!!! I really like the sax in this tune.

Excellent playing and performance on everything!!!

Nice, Really Nice work here. Nice clean mix, great playing... love the vocals.  Really fine guitar solo!  Interesting break! Wow that Sax was a welcome addition. .... Really enjoyed this a lot. Reminds me a bit of some of Zappa's work.

    Wookiee,

Thanks for the input. Mixing this stuff is for me far the most frustrating part of the process.
3 hours to write & record, 3 weeks to get it halfway listenable in my 'non-studio' studio.

OK, this is good stuff.  Great vocal.  Is bass real or memorex?   Very "easy to listen to" tune.   Definitely one I'd turn up when it came on and hope they had the radio on "repeat".  Hard for me to get past the bass and vocal to hear the rest.  So good!  Great stuff!!!!!!

    Hi Warren,

Thank you for the comments. It's a real bass, not memorex.
One more version coming later today & this demo tune will be close to finished.
