sonar 8.5 piano roll toolbar

I'm not sure I understand the problem but I'll give it a shot. The PRV in 8.5 (and I don't know if this was true in earlier versions) can be quirky in that if one, or more, notes are selected the draw tool will only affect those notes when trying to redraw velocity. That's not bad but sometimes notes become selected and you don't know they're selected. For example, if you click anywhere on the piano keys at the left side that selects all the notes on that key. This happens to me all the time. I use the pencil tool and try to redraw velocities and nothing changes. What I do is click on the Select Tool and click in a blank area of the PRV to make sure nothing is selected. After that I can use the Draw Tool to change velocities.

You can edit multiple velocity events by using the Event Inspector toolbar.

This toolbar also allows you to edit other midi specific events such as note #, midi channel # etc

I have this toolbar permanently docked at the top of the Sonar window.
