Omnisphere in synth preview help anyone?

Hi all,

I cant hear Omnisphere when using it to preview midi files in X1, i feel sure its a simple setting thing but just cant work it out, all works fine if i drag the midi file to the track and i can see midi activity in omnisphere when in preview mode but minus the sound...any ideas anyone?

Are your outputs set up correctly?

Hi Spanky,  im not that clued up regarding outputs, i know that Omnisphere has to be manually set to a midi output to hear anything which it is, and like i said everything is fine apart from not being able to hear anything when previewing midi files in the media browser so if you can enlighten me with anything extra to that then please do.

    thanks regardless.

Go to the browser, find your MIDI file, then click on that little arrow to the right of the "Media" tab, scroll down to where it says "Synth Preview Output" and make sure Omnisphere is the output. Click on your MIDI file and then press the play button. That should be the ticket.

The way i use Omnisphere, I create 8 midi tracks and 8 audio tracks.

You can go the "Simple Instrument" route, but you won't get as much out of it.

On to your problem: When you are working on track 1, for instance,  make sure you set that track's INPUT ECHO to ON and make sure that track is hi-lighted. When you play your keyboard, you'll hear the selected patch.

That should get you there. Hope this helps.

    Damon.

I can't get the preview midis to work with Omnisphere either until I turn on the "live" or "stack" functions in Multi.  Bring up Omnisphere, click on the "Multi" button near the top, click on Live or Stack, then click the On button (just to the left of where it says Live Mode). The midi previews should work now.
