Hi, When trying to use headphones in Sonar 7, it shows Audio Driver Error and says: ' The following drivers either do not support the current audio format, or are in use by another application' - ATI DH Audio rear output - IDT Audio I ve got HP Probook 4515S. Does anyone know how to solve the problem? Thanks

What soundcard do you use? seems as though when you plug the phones in the soundcard sonar chooses is changing, or maybe you should have "shared driver" ticked in your soundcard options.also make sure windows media player aint open either that may also be using the driver. Cian

Soundcard is : High Definition Audio (IDT High definition Audio device) , stereo speakers, stereo headphone/line out, stereo microphone in, integrated Actually problem is when I plug out Audio Dynamics and plug the headphones in notebook Sonar does not produce any sound. Then I tried to change the preferences in Sonar Options- Audio-?Drivers and ticked the soundcard I've got 'IDT Audio'. But when I started Sonar again it showed the Audio Driver Error i posted. Tried your suggestions but still problem. except the one - Could not figure out about ticking 'shared driver' Thanks, Sasha

What is Audio Dynamics and how do you plug it out? What's your operating system? Thirty-two or 64-bit?

Operating System is 32 In Dinamics I meant a desktop USB speaker And I have tried ticking "Share Drivers With Other Programs" but did not help. Still Error window appears.

sleep_king In Dinamics I meant a desktop USB speaker. Perhaps the USB speaker is effectively a soundcard. If so, then unplugging it would be likely to result in an error message. Open Console View in Sonar and see what main outputs are displayed.

yes, a USB speaker will be considered a soundcard separate from your High Definition...onboard soundcard. with USB speakers you're trying to use 2 soundcards at the same time with different clocks and different drivers.

Yes you are right it is separate from HD onboard card but I unplug USB before entering Sonar leaving notebook on its own ITD HD soundcard, with headphones plugged in notebook and setting sound options of windows on headphones from control panel; I have checked the headphones with this configuration and it works all right while running other programs like media player etc... but in sonar it does not. The Output section in Sonar - Options - Audio - Driver gives: ATI DH Audio rear output ITD Audio USB desktop speakers (when it is plugged in) Sonar accepts USB peaker and I can hear the sound from, but when unplugging it and setting one of the other two options it is when the Error message appears and headphones do not work.

try MME driver mode. OPTIONS>AUDIO>DRIVER MODE = MME click APPLY let the wave profiler run.
