HELP! Duplicate midi-notes

Okey, so I spent some time doing this drumtrack, and something happened cos now all the notes are layered like..12 times on every single note It sounds horrible obviously and there are way too many notes for me to click delete on every single one 12 times. I have tried selecting all and pressing delete, but that deletes everything. Selecting all and pressing delete on one, wont delete the others...

Is there a way to fix this ?

I've seen doubles - but 12?!? Try Run CAL> Undupe It's the last option under process. HTH

yeah, I tried selecting all and running undupe, and it said-->removed 24 duplicates... other than that it had no effect. Selecting more than one note and running undupe does nothing. It only works on one note at the time :-P
I guess I have some work ahead of me here :-(

How did you insert the notes? That  (12 copies per note) sounds so wild that I came to suspect technical malfunction - either that of the keyboard or the mouse.

What drum software?

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.
The benefit of being a middle aged amateur is the low number of years of frustration ahead of you.

well, I was copying from one track to another and it didnt work. I suspect I was just pasting over the existing one..somehow it happened 12 times, and undo history got messed up. My fault really :-| Drumsoftware is BFD but it couldve been anything..

This is where I find the Staff view can help.

You can SEE where the duplicates are and deleting one ususally removes them all.

Hint - if you try this and it deletes ALL notes attached to a stalk, including the one you want to keep, just hit ctrl + z and you should end up with just the one note you want.

That's useful.  I keep forgetting about Staff View.  I really should use it more.

Thank you! I still had to go through all the notes, but it was done in 30 min or so. Well worth the effort :-)
