Viewing modules in the Control Bar
What's a quick and easy way to view off screen modules in the Control Bar? Thanks.

There's a difference between "displayed" and "off-screen" in the sense that a module can be marked as displayed AND off-screen because the horizontal real estate at current screen resolution is insufficient. I think what the OP is wondering, and I certainly am, is how to see the "displayed" modules that are off-screen. Yes you can uncheck then recheck them, and they'll displace some other module that was on screen, but, AFAIK, there's no way to expand the real estate of the CB, eg. by floating it, so that the off-screen modules become exposed. Or is there...? -Ron

another cool trick is to grab each module in your control bar by the black tack strip(its the edges)and you can drag and drop your different modules in different pages..so for example..you can drag your transport all the way to the left, punch in module all the way to the right

well - yes, sort of. you can float it but you still might not be able to see everything on it depending on your monitor size(s) and configuration. Right, that's what I was trying to say. Floating the CB provides no way to expand its screen real estate It's a non-modal window, yet doesn't have the properties of non-modal windows in most standard apps. So I figured, I'll work around by keeping different configurations of the CB in different instances of the screenset. No dice. The CB is invariant with changes in screenset. Not a big deal, but mildly surprising for a release that touts itself on efficient workflow. -Ron

right - agreed. I wish it were more "ribbon" like where I could click on a few commands directly or click on the expand to get more commands of that type and then be able to scroll right and left for more modules if I need them.

.... be able to scroll right and left for more modules if I need them. Exactamundo. That plus the slip slidin' module placement that Chuckebaby mentions & we'd be masters of all we survey. :) -Ron

I keep wishing that the Control Bar layout was included in screensets. Then I could have my top 2 or 3 control bar layouts available in a jiffy. That would be particularly useful on my smaller laptop display.

Guys, excellent suggestions on how to improve the CB. Maybe we can have them in X1c?
