assign midi controllers/keyboards to individual tracks

I am using sonar X1 with several midi keyboards and controllers. I want to play several vst synths, each on its own track and with its own keyboard / controller. I wish to play these tracks simultaneously. E.G. Piano using one keyboard and bass with a different keyboard (each on their own track).

I am able to assign each control surface and midi channel to each track but can only play one selected track at a time. How do I play several tracks simultaneously, each with its own keyboard? I hope that all makes sense.

Assuming you've assigned each keyboard and track to a separate midi channel, you need to click on the input echo button on easch track so they're both lit up

Thanks Bigdogs that is just what I needed :)
It's easy when you know how. I did search but did not find the answer. I'm new to Sonar and am finding it a steep learning curve. Thanks again.
