X1: Problem Browsing Exteranal Modules Instrument Definition List during playback.

In regard to scrolling through sounds while track is in play on external Sound Modules when using the Instrument definition list:

In previous versions of Sonar I was able to click track properties, and under Patch...I could scroll through my instruments and listen to different sounds during playback.
This allowed me to take full advantage of the external modules instrument definition list when it comes to finding the best sounds for a particular song.
In X1 this function seems to be missing. I see that I can got to the Patch Browser to search sounds but its terribly limited! An external sound module has thousands of sounds and I'm finding the patch browser to be a step back from having access to the entire Instrument Definition listing for each individual external sound module. Why would this feature be left out? Did you guys even consider the instrument definition list for external modules?

Please reconsider this functionality because right we're now having to switch back to 8.5 to fully  browse the instrument definition list for the external midi sound modules.  That's a step backwards for those of us that would like to fully employ scrolling the instrument definition list in X1 during playback.

In X2 if you right click on the patch name from the inspector, you get the old patch search function.  If you click on the SAME patch name in the track view you get... NOTHING.  You can click on the little down arrow and get the non-searchable laundry list of patches, but you can't search for patches directly from the track view.

Cakewalk - why not enable the right click patch search function from the track view?

IMO deleting this functionality is bad for workflow!

    Correct me if I'm wrong.

Edit - In further playing around w/ this function in X2 - if you change the patch from the inspector using the right click function, the patch changes and the new sound plays but the old patch name doesn't change in track view - Seems like a definite bug to me.
