Mackie Onyx 400 f windows 7 drivers

Too date Mackie have refused to provide driver support for the Onyx 400 f soundcard, this is a ridiculous state of affairs, please sign the petition to challenge this at
http://www.ipetitions.com...dows-7-support-mackie/
This soundcard when new cost upwards from £800, an excellent soundcard, how many of us can afford to replace such equipment on a regular basis, more importantly how can our planet sustain a world that keeps making viable hardware obsolete.
Even if you dont own an Onyx 400f please support us that do
many thanks

Love their mixers and speakers, but yes -- they do rather suck with anything that requires software development.

    (Signed the petition, BTW).

Yeah... I can't believe the nerve of those guys putting out new models, like people are going to buy them after hearing how badly the last generation was supported. I hope they fail.  Vote with your dollars folks, there are plenty of good interfaces out there with good driver support.

Echo built the 400f drivers, not Mackie.  I have a 1200f and was very angry when the interface was discontinued after less than 3 years on the market.  Mackie has a new driver development team and I'm sure has no interest in supporting older products they had no real part in (software wise).

Hi all thanks for posting, at the end of the day Mackie as we all know will probably not develop the drivers for windows 7, however the petition is one way of publicly telling them and others like them, to sort out their hardware support, the gear they make is quality, however it is shocking to drop their support for their products, hurting the customers pocket and dumping obsolete hardware on the planet, quality music gear should last a lifetime, please sign up

I too agree that Mackie has really dropped the ball on their drivers in the past.  it's amazing how some companies can be so good with hardware and suck so bad at drivers (regardless of whether they subcontracted it out or not - they're still responsible for it!).

Centrance is supposed to have drivers which support the 400f and others.  it's not free, but it's not expensive either in comparison to buying another interface

    MACKIE BETA TEST ONYX 400f WINDOWS 7 DRIVERS 2011 2011/10/07 19:09:05 (permalink)
Onyx 400f drivers windows 7 beta test Mackie remove posts from forum Good Day, We are very pleased to announce the immediate opening of an Onyx 400F Private Beta Test Group, and we have hand-selected you as a potential test candidate for this software update! Our internal testing team has validated core functionality of the Onyx 400F using the new driver with Windows 7 32- and 64-bit versions, and – as a current 400F owner running Windows 7 – we would love to have your assistance in further validating the functionality of this software prior to its public release. Our customers’ long term support is very important to us, and core customer-validation is critical to our success. Having said that, the amount of time you put into testing is entirely up to you. Yet, of course, the more time you put in, the better and more accurate the results will be for the Mackie Recording community. As this will be a Private Beta, we would first require that you sign and return the attached nondisclosure agreement in order to receive the Beta software package. The spirit of this agreement is simply to keep discussion items concerning the Beta build between us. It will not, however, prevent you from speaking about past or future public releases of Onyx 400F software, should you be inclined to do so. As we are obviously very excited to get this release into the field as soon as possible, we appreciate your prompt response upon reviewing, signing and returning the attached NDA agreement to Onyx400FPrivateBeta@Mackie.com (or in reply to the above e-mail address, or faxed to +1(425)487-4334). Thereafter, we will sign and return the document for your records, and send you the (Beta) driver update as soon as possible. Above all, we want to thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, P.S. Note that we have removed your most recent posts from our forums. Several of our users have remarked on your history of posts as objectionable and/or nonproductive to the community. Contrarily, based on our confidence in the latest 400F driver software, we have proactively hand-selected the users we wanted to join our Private Beta team and e-mailed them specifically – including you – because we believe this group to be adequate testers of the 400F software prior to its public release. Once again, we are very happy to be so close to achieving the end goal of releasing this driver, and we would be grateful for your involvement. Sincerely, The Mackie Digital Development Team 'Your account has been banned or locked. This ban will expire on 10/10/11 11:45 AM. If the Administrator has specified a reason for this ban, you will find it below. You are being banned for the weekend for posting the 400F Private Beta testing invitation. Please do not post about the beta test as we need to select the users to not slow down the process of the beta testing. ' Well done to Mackie for finally responding to customer requests for drivers for the onyx 400f, the censorship of postings to the forums is confusing as is their dual answers. Each day our planet is polluted by more and more viable hardware made redundant through poor software support.....this is bad for us all...... Onyx 400f Windows 7 Driver Support Mackie signatures - Page 3 thanks
