Mic is delayed from recording

I am new to recording and when I record vocals through my ST51 Sterling Audio mic it is delayed from the speakers, if I talk it takes a split second to come through. How can I sync it up to match? Please help me out. Thanks.

    welcome...

It looks like the mic is not a USB... that's good. But we need to know about the sound card you are using. And just as important, what audio drivers are you using to run it?

Inside MC5, there are some settings in the audio tab..one adjusts the latency.... move that slider one way or the other and see if you can dial the delay down to a reasonable amount. Adjusting the buffers can also help.

    Welcome to the forum.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say it is latency.
If you're using the stock computer sound card, you may never eliminate it completely, but you can make it less annoying.
What version of MC do you have?
    What's your operating system?
How much memory does the computer have?
    How fast is the computer?
    What is the sound card?
What driver mode are you using? (in MC, Options>Audio>Driver Mode)
