issue with importing audio files in sonar 8 producer

Hi all,

I'm having an issue when I try to import audio into sonar 8. After the file imports, I hit play, and all I get is harsh static. Any ideas on how I can fix this? I'm using the Maudio Profire2626 as my interface.
Any suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks all.
Ivan.

    Welcome to the forum.

Does recorded audio and soft synths play back properly or is it only imported audio that is problematic?

What's the audio and how are the sample rates/ bit depth of M-Audio, the project and the audio?

IIRC SONAR should automatically convert the audio according to the project, but I'm not sure if there's some gaps in the procedure.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

What's the format of the files you're trying to import? There's many different formats and some may not be compatible although I've never had a problem with WAVs or MP3s.

Hi, as far as I know all my bit depths are 16, I've tried changing the depth at which files are imported in sonar, but no dice.

I've tried importing waves as well as mp3s, but it still does the same thing.

    Ivan:

Check your audio output for the problem audio tracks. You might not have noticed that it defaulted to an unwanted device output.

I have the exact same problem when my POD guitar processor is turned on. The output defaults to a POD output instead of my MOTU interface and the audio is completely horrible.

Once I change the output to the correct one, all is well, the audio is not corrupt and it plays properly.
