No sound with studio instrument

I dragged and dropped a piano pattern onto a track. When I play back the track I don't get any sound from the piano. Is there a setting that I need to use or check? Thanks. BTW, I'm using Sonar Home Studio 7 on XP.

What kind of track are you dropping the midi data onto? What is the track's input and output?

I've tried it as audio and midi track. As a midi track I now get sound, however when I try to do strings it plays back as a piano.

Got it!! Messed with some settings and what not. Thanks for putting me on the right track. No pun intended.

There is a lot you can do with soft synths. If you are new to this sort of thing it would be in your best interest to read everything about using soft synths in the help file and following any related tutorials.
