Help with emailing files please.

Me and my friend both have Sonar Home Studio.  I would like to lay down a couple tracks and email the file to him and he can lay down some tracks.  Problem is, when i open his file or vice versa I get an error telling me about missing audio files.  What are we missing here?  Any help is greatly appreciated!  Thank you.

Have you tried creating and trading bundle files? Do you have that "Save As" option? I think what you are sending are files that have the info on where the audio files are, but not the audio files themselves.

Well, I can't promise that will be the perfect answer. I've never used bundle files and am not aware of their limitations. If you are using soft synth or plugins that the other party doesn't have you may run into problems. I only know that bundle files are supposed to "compact all the audio and merges it with the remaining project data in a bundle file."

Before you do anything I suggest you read all the info under Bundle Files in your Help file.

Bundle file is a good option, even though they are more vulnerable to get corrupted than cwp-files.
I suggest you keep both cwp- and cwb-files  of the project updated. When you receive the bundle, save it as cwp when you have opened it.

If you prefer to use cwp, you must send also the audio files, not only the project cwp-file. I don't know if HS has "per project audio folders" as a saving option. If it has, you need to use it and send the whole folder.

The files may be so  big, hundreds of Mbs, that you need to use a transfer service site to manage the correspondance. I've never used those so I can't suggest one by name.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

you could send over IM e.g. msn, but I'd say split into chunks if it's a big file size
