Treme - HBO

For those with HBO and like some nice music, you might checkout 'Treme' on HBO. It's in its second season now, and the more I watch it, the more I like it. The location is New orleans and just after Katrina. It is based on a bunch of sub-plots following various people of interest. Of main interest to this group, I thought might be the musical performances. Some really nice R&B and jazz performances (no Lady Gaga here). Steve Earle made a guest appearance as a street perfomer on the last episode.

Broken pencils are pointless.

+1 (million).  I loved this show in season one and season two is even better ... like reconnecting with some old, dear friends.  My only gripe is that in season one the Davis character enjoyed the favors of the gorgeous lady chef.  This year it's the gorgeous lady violinist.  Come on!  The guys a bit of a dweeb.  I'm already getting my quota of fantasy from Game of Thrones.

But seriously, this show has everything going for it: great writing, superb casting and more than a little geniuine kick-ass music performed by some very talented musicians.  You don't even have to like jazz to enjoy that aspect of the series.  Most highly recommended to everyone here.

Yeah, this is what I've been sayin'... huge Treme fan here.  Some of the same actors from HBO's 'The Wire,' another fine drama (albeit without the music) that ran I guess about 5 seasons on HBO.
