Not if it's the real deal.
Unfortunately, it can be hard to tell sometimes.
After 15 years, my wife and I have been through better and worse a few times.
At this point, when I go to work in the morning, and we say "I love you", it doesn't mean I kind of like having you around. It means you are an integral and essential part of my life.
It ain't all roses, and there was a time we were ready to split, but we realized that we completed each other, and worked through it.
If you've got the real thing, you'll know it.
If not, well, you'll probably know that, too.

As Robert points out ... Circumstances over time really make it difficult for a relationship at many times along the journey and will continue to do so, but there are experiences along the way that just make the journey worth every inch of continuing forth even when the breaking point(s) persist. These are the times when it's hard to see where you are, where you were and if your going in the right direction. It's also these times that help build the bond. It's a silent bond that words can often painfully challenge, yet the bond is stronger than the pain. I have to disagree. Real love is grossly underrated!

If one thinks that "love" is a synonym to "being in love", then one gets disappointed.

I think true love is like independent wealth. If you don't have it (or don't think you have it), it can seem unreachable and distasteful. Simplest thing to do is dis it. If you have it, many want to disgust their friends by flaunting it...
