Making drums echo?

Hey, I am on Sonar x1 studio and I have been using the step sequencer to create drum loops. I am using roland groove synth for my drums. I was wondering how I could sort of make my drums echo after each note has been played. Thanks

Use a reverb or a delay on the track, or both.

At tweakheadz.com you find well written guides about "everything"  concerning home recording.
It's also very recommendable to read the X1 help files/manual properly. I suppose it introduces the FX too.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

Delay, synced to the project tempo.  Your echos will be time matched.

    crazyrocker3,

Your Roland Groove Synth is a hardware device right?

Well, I think you'd need to record the audio out of it back into SONAR. Now that can present a problem if you want different levels of echo/reverb/delay on individual drums parts. You may need to record the audio out of the synth into SONAR one drum kit piecde at a time (unless your synth has multiple outs).

To do the above you will need to have the MIDI from the step sequencer drive your synth but at the same time have the audio outs on the synth going into your audio interface and set record on the audio tracks being captured from the synth.

If you've already captured the audio out from the synth into SONAR, just follow Kalle's suggestion(s).

    HTH.

Yea, bapu.  I think he's talking about the soft synth that came w/ P5 and various flavors of SONAr.
