Step Sequencer For Synths

Hi, I was wondering if there was any kind of step sequencer sort of thing for synths. I don't get how deadmau5, Daft Punk, and those guys get perfect synth lines. Any ideas? Thanks!

    Hi crazy-

The Step Sequencer isn't just for drums -- you can use it for bass & synth lines too. See https://cakewalk.com/Prod...spx/Step-Sequencer-2.0

When I use step sequencer for synths and stuff, it doesn't hold the note. How do I make it hold the note instead of just playing one little tap of the note? Thanks!

Click between each button to link the beats.  Note will be from first to last beat in the chain (might be double click)

You have to CTRL Click between the notes in order to tie them.
    Try that.

In 8.53 you press Ctrl and click between the notes, IIRC. It's probably the same in X1.

    From the Manual

    To merge/unmerge notes
    Do one of the following:
    • Merge two adjacent notes. Hold down the CTRL key and click between the two notes.
    • Unmerge two adjacent notes. Hold down the CTRL key and right-click between the two notes.
    • Merge multiple adjacent notes. Hold down the CTRL key and click between the first two notes
and drag across all other notes you wish to merge.
    • Unmerge multiple adjacent notes. Hold down the CTRL key and right-click between the first
two notes and drag across all other notes you wish to unmerge.
