Novation Remote Zero SL & SONAR

Just wondering if anyone has any experience and/or tips for setting up and using the Novation Remote Zero SL (original model) with Sonar?
I'd primarily be intersted in using it to trigger loops & control soft synths.  I'll be using it along side an Edirol PCR-M30 controller.

I'll be using it with Sonar X1 Producer, but tips for earlier versions of Sonar would probably be helpful as well.

Thanks in advance!

Works excellently with Automap (I don't use it with ACT). You need to tell it to wrap the VST's you use and then in Sonar you rescan and use the wrapped VST's instead. If a wrapped VST has the focus Automap will switch to it, otherwise it will control Sonar's tracks.

What you will want to do is create/save custom default Automap profiles for each VST that you use. It will create it's own mapping, but they are generally pretty random, so you want to create your own. Keep in mind you can have multiple pages for each VST, and figure out a "standard" layout so the controls you use a lot are in the same place.

One of the great things about Automap is it will display the values on the SL's display, which can be helpful for VST's that don't display values for things like the exact EQ frequencies.

In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.
